Student stress - how to manage it
Wednesday 14 April 2021 12.15 – 12.45
Online via Zoom
Being a university student can sometimes be stressful as well as being a fun and exciting experience. The Student Health Services gives a lecture about student stress, what it is and how to cope with it.
Stress is a natural feeling, designed to help you cope in challenging situations. In small amounts it is not harmful, in fact it may even be positive, because it helps you to focus and to do your best.
However, if you are feeling very stressed for a long time and do not get a chance to recover, it can lead to both physical and mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. It might also affect your academic performance negatively.
Most students experience stress during certain periods of their education. In this lecture we will talk about student stress, what it is, how to recognize it and what to do about it. We will give you some hands-on tips and techniques and also talk about stress recovery.
