Employment programmes

Many of the newcomers to Sweden have university degrees and valuable job experience in their home countries, yet struggle with getting a qualified job in Sweden. As part of its commitment to education, collaboration, and equality, Stockholm University hosts two programs: Snabbspår and Korta vägen. Both programs focus on language skills, cultural competence, and providing hands-on experience to the participants. The programmes work closely with companies and government agencies to find good matches for internships and are sponsored by Arbetsförmedlingen.

Shorten the path to employment

"Korta vägen" (Short cut) is a labour market training programme for university-educated people new to Sweden. It utilises their expertise and provides a quick route to the Swedish labour market. The programme is sponsored by the Swedish Public Employment Service.

Fast track for newly arrived social scientists

In August 2016, a fast track (snabbspår) for social scientists was launched at Stockholm University. The training is commissioned by the Swedish Public Employment Service and is aimed at newly arrived social scientists, including economists and legal scholars, who have completed at least three years of higher education and would like to work in the public sector.
