MSCA is the EU’s program for research mobility and aims to ensure excellent and innovative research by increasing international exchange and supporting researchers’ career development.

The following MSCA projects at Stockholm University have been granted funding in spring 2019:

The project “Thawing Carbon From Land to SEA: Microbial Degradation of Organic Matter and Response to Thawing Permafrost in the Northeast Siberian Land-Shelf System” is granted MSCA Individual Fellowships for 24 months with a total budget of 203 852,16 euros. Responsible researcher is Professor Örjan Gustafsson, Department of Environmental Science and Analytical Chemistry (ACES), who will carry out the research together with Weichao Wu, Postdoc.

The project “Analyzing the heavy element factories of the Universe: photometric and spectroscopic sample study of kilonovae” is granted MSCA Individual Fellowships during a project period of 24 months with a total budget of 191 852,16 euros. Responsible researcher is Jesper Sollerman, Department of Astronomy, who will carry out the research with Ting-Wan Chen, Postdoc.

The project “Uses and meanings of the word crusade in the late Middle Ages” is granted MSCA Individual Fellowships for 12 months with a total budget of 101 926,08 euros. Responsible researcher is Kurt Villads Jensen at the Center for Medieval Studies, Department of History, who will carry out the research with Benjamin Weber, Postdoc.
