Welcome to join the Bolin Centre for Climate Research

The Bolin Centre for Climate Research is dedicated to advancing climate-related research. We are pleased to invite researchers affiliated with Stockholm University (SU), the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI), and the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) to join us as members.

Bolin Centre Membership

Please note that membership is open to PhD students and researchers at more senior career stages who are affiliated with one of the Bolin Centre's partner institutions. This includes individuals who are employed by or receive scholarships through these institutions. Master’s students are not eligible for membership, as the Bolin Centre’s activities are focused on supporting research at the doctoral level and beyond.

Membership and affiliation

Membership requires you to include the Bolin Centre for Climate Research as an additional affiliation on your profile page and in scientific publications related to climate research, alongside your department or institution.

The Bolin Centre brings together researchers from different disciplines and institutions to advance climate research. Including the Bolin Centre as an affiliation reflects your participation in our research community and helps make our collective scientific contributions visible.

Affiliation is separate from acknowledging financial support. If your research has received funding from the Bolin Centre, this should also be acknowledged.

When you join the Bolin Centre you agree:

• to include the Bolin Centre for Climate Research as an additional affiliation on your profile page and in your scientific publications related to climate research, alongside your department or institution. This is a mandatory requirement for Bolin Centre membership and applies independently of whether your research has received Bolin Centre funding.
• that the information you provide us with is stored. We will store your name, title, affiliation, legal gender, which RT ('s) you are joining, the link to your personal homepage, a portrait of you and your contact details.
• to be listed as a member in our membership register. The membership register is handled by the Bolin Centre Directorate and may be shared with partners, research financiers and similar actors.
• to be listed as a member on our website with your photo, name, title, affiliation, which RT ('s) you have joined and the contact details you have provide us with. The website has open access and can be visited by anyone.
• to receive current information from the Bolin Centre.

Bolin Days

Bolin Days is the Centre’s annual internal conference and is primarily intended for Bolin Centre members. Limited participation opportunities are available for Master’s students through volunteering and teacher-led student groups.
