Forum for the Arctic and Antarctic

The Bolin Centre for Climate Research helped organised the 2025 Forum for the Arctic and Antarctic that took place at the Swedish Museum of Natural History, November 10–11, 2025.

– A venue renowned for its leading research environments on processes of change affecting the Arctic and Antarctic, including climate change and geopolitics.

The Aim of the Forum for the Arctic and Antarctic is to shape agendas for Arctic and Antarctic research in sweden, through dialogue among academia, state agencies, and stakeholders. The overarching theme is raising the ambition of Swedish Polar Research.

Swedish Climate Symposium

The Swedish Climate Symposium was held for the first time in 2022 in Norrköping, in collaboration with the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) and the strategic research areas BECC and MERGE at Lund University. Swedish Biodiversity Symposium

The Swedish Biodiversity Symposium is an interdisciplinary conference that brings together experts and stakeholders in biodiversity to promote positive developments in the field. The symposium was held for the first time in autumn 2025 in Gothenburg, with the main organisers being the strategic research area BECC, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, the SLU Centre for Biological Diversity, and the Gothenburg Global Biodiversity Centre.
