Evaluations of Sweden’s monetary policy
The Committee on Finance of the Riksdag has commissioned CeMoF to carry out annual independent evaluations of Sweden’s monetary policy. The evaluations focus on developments during the most recent calendar year and provide a basis for the Committee’s examination of the Riksbank.
The evaluation process
In 2022 CeMoF was approached by the Committee on Finance of the Riksdag on whether CeMoF would be willing to evaluate the monetary policy of Sveriges Riksbank. So far, reports for 2022, 2023 and 2024 have been submitted to the Committee. A fourth report for 2025 is scheduled for submission in late April 2026.
As part of the evaluation process, a seminar on the topic is arranged in the second-year PhD course on monetary economics. The evaluation culminates with a public hearing in the Riksdag with participation from both the authors of the report and the members of the executive board of Sveriges Riksbank.
