Isa Blumi new member of the editorial board of Encounters in the Middle East and Asia

Isa Blumi, Associate Professor and Docent of Middle Eastern Studies at Stockholm University, is now a member of the editorial board of Edinburgh University Press, Encounters in the Middle East and Asia.

Encounters in the Middle East and Asia publishes research highlighting contacts between and within the Middle East and Asia. The series fosters a new understanding of ‘Oriental Studies’ by publishing works of an interdisciplinary nature in which the non-Western world takes centre stage. Combining various approaches across the humanities and social sciences, ‘encounters’ include cultural, economic, intellectual, linguistic, literary and political exchanges between, and within, the Middle East and wider Asia. Maintaining a deep understanding of local languages and cultures, the series presents a nuanced perspective on global thought, artistic currents and financial flow.

Isa Blumi is also contributing two chapters (18 and 23) in the new book The Cambridge Companion to Ottoman History (ed.) Alexis Wick, which is part of Cambridge Companions to History.
