The astronomer's digital toolbox course, self-study course
This self-study course has been designed to provide an introductory view to softwares and tools necessary to undertake lab reports as well as final bachelor and master thesis research projects in the bachelor and master programs especially related to astrophysics.
The course consists of three modules: linux, python, and latex. Several tasks need to be completed in each module: sometimes it is simply to watch a video, others consist of questions and exercises. By accessing the athena webpage you should go to Plans/Topics/ there you will find the modules. Each module is independent from the others, so you can decide what to start with (latex, python, linux). We recommend that you follow the order of the lectures in each module. Once you have completed all the tasks and filled the feedback questionnaire, a teacher will check your answers, will provide feedback and give you a pass and the certificate that you have completed the course(module).
More practical information is provided in the announcement board of the course on the online learning platform Athena.
