Seminars

In our research seminars, current research from all areas of astronomy and astrophysics is presented. Research seminars at the department are usually held on Fridays at 10:30 in room FC61, on the 6th floor at AlbaNova.

Apart from the seminars organized by the department, a number of other astronomy related seminars and open lectures are organized by other departments at AlbaNova.

Conferences

The Department of Astronomy organizes and/or participates in several conferences annually. A couple of recurring national meetings are:

Astronomdagarna is a conference for all astronomers in Sweden. The conference is organized by the Swedish Astronomical Society and the National Committee for Astronomy with the main purpose of facilitating contacts between younger researchers in astronomy. In addition to professional astronomers and students also amateur astronomers participate.

The SRS meeting. The Swedish Space Researchers' Cooperation Group (SRS) is an association of active space researchers and space technicians in Sweden with the task of working for a positive development of Swedish space research.
