Information for admitted students summer 2026

Welcome to summer term 2026 at BIG! Here you’ll find important information if you’ve been admitted to Marine Biology starting 22 June or Insects: Inventory and Identification starting 10 August.

In order for us to efficiently be able to help all students, before registering make sure to carefully read our information to admitted students.

Registration for Marine Biology

Please note, that it is your responsibility to ensure that you are registered on your course. Make sure that you are registered on the correct course. If you do not register your place can go to a reserve. However, it is important that you only register on courses that you do intend to take, or you are taking a place from another student.

Registration is open from May 19 until June 14

If you have trouble registering, please contact our student office, info.big@su.se, before the last registration day. Otherwise you will lose your place on the course.

Roll call for Insects: Inventory and Identification

There is no registration for Insects: Inventory and Identification, but at roll call. The roll call is mandatory for both admitted students and those on the waiting list. This is your opportunity to confirm your place or be considered for any available spots.

Can’t attend? Email us at info.big@su.se before the roll call, including your name and the course you’ve applied to.

Reserve roll call

If you have been offered a waiting list place, you may be admitted to your chosen programme if someone declines their offer. In that case, you must confirm that you want the place by attending the waiting list roll call for the respective course.

Important information before field courses

Several of our courses include fieldwork, often in forests and natural environments during the summer months.

We therefore strongly recommend that you get vaccinated against TBE (tick-borne encephalitis) well in advance of the course start, especially if you do not already have sufficient protection.

Please note that the vaccination is given in multiple doses over time, so it is advisable to start the process as soon as possible.
