Welcome to our research pages!

Stockholm University conducts broad and strong research in biology, ranging from molecular biology to studies of global ecosystems. This research forms the foundation of the teaching provided in our biology programmes.

The research is carried out at three departments within the section: the Department of Ecology, Environment and Plant Sciences (EMB/DEEP), the Department of Molecular Biosciences, The Wenner-Gren Institute (MBW), and the Department of Zoology. Professors, senior lecturers and PhD students at these departments are responsible for the teaching that is administrated by us at the Department of Biology Education. We also collaborate with teachers from the Stockholm Resilience Centre and the Swedish Museum of Natural History.

Below, we provide links to some of the research areas at these departments.
