Research projects

Research at the Department of Chemistry is supported by numerous projects funded by national and international organisations, with over 100 active initiatives currently underway.

Funding is provided through both individual grants and collaborative research programmes. Our researchers primarily receive individual project grants from the Swedish Energy Agency, the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (KAW), and the Swedish Research Council (VR), with around 15 VR-funded researchers currently active. Larger collaborative grants are awarded by VR, KAW, Mistra, the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF), VINNOVA, and the EU. The Department is also a key partner in several major national consortia, including Mistra SafeChem, Mistra TerraClean, and the Wallenberg Wood Science Centre.
