Child and Youth research

The Department of Child and Youth Studies is an interdisciplinary research environment. Our research area is within Child and Youth research and there are five research topics:

  • Children and Young People's Living Conditions, Health/Well-being and Vulnerability
  • Children and Young People’s Places and Movement
  • Everyday Life, Culture and Communication in the Lives of Children and Young People
  • Play, Care, Development and Learning in Preschool, School and School age educare
  • Profession, Education and Practice Based Research

Education at postgraduate level is a unique opportunity to try to understand a subject in depth. If you pursue postgraduate studies full-time, four academic years are required to achieve a PhD. You can get a licentiate degree after two years of full-time study. Read more:
