Seminar

Date:

Wednesday 12 March 2025

Time:

12.30 – 14.00

Location:

Lilla hörsalen, Borgarfjordsgatan 12, Kista

Confirmed at the highest EU level in August 2024, the AI Act will become fully implemented in August 2026. It is high time to address questions like:

  • What are the consequences for you and your research?
  • What about when your research prototype would lead to a real-world test?
  • Is research exempt from the severe demands on developers?
  • What is your accountability as a researcher if you release your code as open source?

On March 12, associate professor Claes Granmar from the Department of Law, will provide us with answers. He will give an overview of the AI Act in its legal context, how it is to be implemented and what the consequences for research might be.

After the general notes on the AI Act there will be ample time to discuss your detailed musings and questions. These can be e-mailed a day or two beforehand to Harko Verhagen to enable deeper discussions.

This seminar is open to all researchers at Stockholm University. It is organised at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV), Campus Kista.
