Teaching facilities
You can find your teaching facilities in your schedule in Daisy (room).
Daisy
Outside each room there is an information screen displaying the day’s schedule.
For large lectures, several rooms are connected. In these cases, multiple rooms are listed in the schedule. The lecturer is in one of the rooms, and the other rooms are connected to that room. You can go to any of them.

Teaching rooms, group rooms, labs and study areas
The facilities have different purposes and rules for use. Some rooms can be booked in advance, while others are open for spontaneous study or specific teaching sessions. The overview shows what applies to each type of room.
Lecture halls
Aula NOD
Lilla hörsalen
Lecture rooms
L70, L50, L30, DL30 and DL40.
The rooms are named according to the number of students each can accommodate. L70 can be connected to other lecture halls. DL40 is equipped with 20 and DL30 with 15 stationary computers. Both rooms are used for specific lectures.
Seminar rooms
S1, S2 and S3
For seminars in smaller groups of up to 15 students. When the seminar rooms are not booked for teaching (shown on the information screen outside the room), they may be used by students for group work. The seminar rooms cannot be booked.
Group rooms with IT support
There are group rooms for up to five people, G5:1–G5:21, and group rooms for up to ten people, G10:1–G10:8.
The rooms are equipped with a stationary computer, large screen, whiteboard, table and chairs. You can connect your own computer to the screen. These rooms are primarily intended for group work. Book via Daisy. G5:18–21 and G10:8 cannot be booked; they are available on a “first come, first served” basis.

- A group can book a room via Daisy.
- A group consists of at least three people.
- If a group room cannot be booked, the “first come, first served” rule applies.
- If you are alone, you may use a room until a group arrives. The group has priority even if you have booked the room.

- The rooms can be booked for a maximum of four consecutive hours.
- Food and drinks are not allowed in the rooms.

Evacuation and fire protection measures
Here you will find important information on what to keep in mind in the event of an evacuation of the Nod Building. Please take all alarms seriously and evacuate immediately even if you do not perceive any danger in the vicinity.
Evacuation and fire protection measures of the Nod Building
Here you will find important information about fire safety in the Nod Building and how to act in the event of an evacuation. Take a few minutes to look around the facilities so that you know where the emergency exits, fire alarms and extinguishing equipment are located. This will help you be better prepared if something should happen.
- Locate the fire extinguishers and learn how they work by reading the instructions.
- Locate the fire blankets. They are used if someone’s clothes have caught fire. You will find a fire blanket close to every fire extinguisher.
- Familiarise yourself with the escape routes. Look for the green signs with a “running man”. Several safe routes are available.
- Study the evacuation plan, available on the walls on the 2nd floor, and find out where the outdoor assembly point is located.
- Identify your evacuation leader. In public study rooms, a member of staff will act as one. If you are in a lesson or lecture, your teacher will serve as the evacuation leader, and if you are taking an exam, the responsible invigilator will take on this role. All evacuation leaders wear a yellow vest. In the student union’s premises, someone from DISK will act as an evacuation leader, with or without a vest.
- Always follow the evacuation leader’s instructions.
- Warn others and urge them to evacuate. Assist those in need without putting yourself at risk. Help individuals in wheelchairs to reach a stairwell that is free of smoke. Ensure that someone stays with them while another person informs the evacuation leaders that people remain in the building, including which staircase and floor they are located on.
- Remain at the outdoor assembly point until the police, rescue services or an evacuation leader confirm that it is safe to re-enter the building.
General information about evacuation
Evacuate immediately if you hear the fire alarm, if there is a risk to life or health, or if instructed by the police, rescue services or an evacuation leader. Once a fire has started, you typically have only three to four minutes to evacuate. If you see smoke in your nearest escape stairwell, choose an alternative route.
Environmental work
DSV works actively to reduce the department’s impact on the environment. We are working to improve areas such as energy use, waste management, travel and transport. We have the opportunity to make a difference through our main activities: research, education and collaboration with society.
Sustainable societal development is a central issue for Stockholm University, which through education, research and collaboration works actively to achieve the goals of the UN’s 2030 Agenda.

Waste sorting
Waste management in the Nod Building is environmentally certified, and the building is BREEAM-certified. This places specific requirements on how we handle waste, which has been taken into account in the design of our waste containers. The materials we handle are listed below.
