Studying with a disability
Support when you have a disability – this is how it works at DSV.
In the aim to facilitate your studies, Stockholm University offers different kinds of disability study support to students with long-term disabilities, depending on your situation. The aim is to give all students the ability to study on equal terms.

How to apply for disability study support at DSV:
- Before you can apply for support, you must have received your interim personal identity number (T-number).
- Fill out the application form for NAIS
- Discuss with a coordinator for disability study support (they will contact you).
- Receive the downloadable certificate from NAIS.
- Email us at DSV, studentstod@dsv.su.se, and ask for a link to the upload service DSV-upload for secure upload of your NAIS certificate. This is required, among other things, in order to receive examination adjustments in your DSV courses. If you would like to book a short meeting with us about your support, please write this in the email.
Important to know:
- The certificate is valid for all courses and programmes at Stockholm University. Therefore, it is important that you contact us at DSV to be able to get adjustments for studies at our department (see 5. above). It will not automatically be given.
- The types of adjustments specified in the NAIS certificate are either decided or recommended. Decided adjustments must always be provided upon request. In cases where the course coordinator decides on recommended adjustments, the assessment is based on the course’s intended learning outcomes and on whether the recommended adjustments can be implemented practically and within budget. Read more in the certificate about your responsibilities and the department’s responsibilities.
