Trends in Project Management 7.5 credits

The course aims to deepen students’ knowledge and understanding of current, evidence-based research trends in IT project management.

It prepares students for their upcoming master’s thesis or enables them to explore advanced topics not covered in the regular curriculum. The content includes an in-depth study of published empirical research in IT project management. Some possible objectives include:

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of a specific trend in IT project management.
  • Demonstrate the ability to carry out a small research project and write a scientific text (for example, to critically analyse the research and analysis methods, limitations, propose alternative methods and research questions/aspects in the chosen trend, etc)
  • Reflect on the state of the art and known challenges, as well as potential solutions, in the chosen trend (research area).
  • Discuss the possible applicable research methods in the chosen trend to for example answer the proposed research questions.
