Research-based knowledge is a stepping stone for development and innovation in society. Our research has a strong impact on how digitalisation related challenges can be tackled – at a societal level as well as in organisations and by individuals.

How can information and communication technologies (ICT) systems be designed, developed and used in different contexts? And how do ICT systems relate to people, organisations and society? These questions are always at the centre of our attention.

The research at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV) is divided into nine research subjects. Our research portfolio spans a number of topics, such as digital transformation, AI, data science, cyber security and language technology. A lot of our projects are connected to healthcare, education, governance, security and/or games.

The research environment at DSV is genuinely international and multidisciplinary, and we collaborate with many private and public organisations. More than 80 senior researchers and 65 PhD students are working together to build new knowledge and develop the field of computer and systems sciences.
