The Scientific Method, 1,5 credits
The Scientific Method (1,5 credits) is a mandatory course for obtaining the Bachelor of Science degree at the Faculty of Science at Stockholm University.
The course gives a brief introduction to the History and Philosophy of Science and to the Scientific Method. The course comprises 5 sessions, each held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on a weekday. The sessions are a combination of lectures and experiments. The last session is an at home exam. Attendance is obligatory. The course is graded pass/fail.
The course is part of a general academic education and is not specific to any particular subject or project. It is given by the Department of Culture and Aesthetics. It will be given three times during 2026: March 10-13, exam March 16 (Swedish version), September 1–4, exam September 7 (English Version), November 10–13, exam November 17 (English version).
Registration for the course in March 2026 is open November 28 – February 17.
