The Department of Economic History and International Relations at Stockholm University will host the European Security Studies Conference 2026 on 11–12 June 2026, in collaboration with the European Initiative for Security Studies (EISS) and the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST).

This major international event will bring together leading scholars, researchers, and experts in international security from across Europe, representing a wide range of disciplines and perspectives. The conference aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue on pressing security challenges facing Europe and the wider world.

A key feature of the conference is its strong emphasis on supporting the next generation of scholars. PhD students and early career researchers are especially encouraged to participate, providing them with a valuable platform to present their work, exchange ideas, and build professional networks within the academic community.

“We are proud to host this important conference and to welcome participants from across Europe,” says the organizing team. “We look forward to engaging discussions and new collaborations that will contribute to advancing research in international security.”

The conference promises a dynamic program featuring presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, all designed to promote innovative research and meaningful academic exchange.
