Conference 2024

Over the years, the conference has welcomed scholars, practitioners, and policy makers from Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, the United States, and Latin America, creating a truly global forum for dialogue and exchange. It serves as a key platform for the discussion and dissemination of state-of-the-art research in VET, fostering critical reflection on policy, practice, and theory. Questions discussed over the years include:

  • What role does vocational education and training play and should play in securing employability and social cohesion?
  • What are best ways forward in the development of competences required by labour market in a present context or fast technological development including AI?
  • How can we secure the training of better qualified vocational education and training teachers?
  • What are the best ways forward in organising teaching and learning processes in classrooms and workshops?
  • What can we learn from comparison of different systems of vocational education and training internationally?

As part of the annual academic activities of VETNET — the European network of research in vocational education and training — the conference continues to promote international networking, cooperation, and evidence-informed policy development worldwide.
