Stockholm University, Sweden (7 July – 19 July 2024):

"Our experience in Stockholm, Sweden, lasted for two weeks. Despite the limited time, it didn’t stop Henry Van Til, Henry Bombardieri, and me from making the most of our study abroad adventure. We focused on two units: World Trade Law and Intellectual Property Rights in Online and Digital Environments.

On the first day of classes, I quickly noticed the incredible diversity in the room. Out of the 32 students, 21 came from different countries, including Latvia, Estonia, Brazil, the Caribbean, Ukraine, Hungary, Italy, China, and even as far as South Africa. This diversity fostered robust discussions and offered a range of perspectives that enriched our learning experience.

The beauty was right at our doorstep!

Beyond our daily classes and final take-home exams for each subject, we took full advantage of our spare time by exploring the picturesque city of Stockholm and its surroundings. The beauty was right at our doorstep — we realized that Stockholm University's campus is located in a National Park! We kayaked on the stunning Brunnsviken lake, took a boat tour of Djurgården, learned the Viking game of Kubb, and enjoyed the Swedish tradition of fika—a relaxing coffee break.

While sightseeing in Gamla Stan, watching the Euros at bars like SUS and Stora Metjens Grand, and sharing countless experiences, we grew close to people who had been strangers just two weeks earlier. We created many incredible memories and funny moments that will stay with us for a lifetime.

As I flew home from Stockholm, I felt immense gratitude for the experience and returned ready to embark on another trimester of law studies back in Australia."
