Organisation
The Department of Linguistics has approximately 70 employees and is organised in different sections.
Department organisation and subdivisions
The department is led by the Head of Department. Technical and administrative staff have an Head of Administration and the divisions Phonetics Laboratory, SUBIC, Sign Language and Språkstudion Language Learning Resource Centre have their own directors.
Division representatives act on behalf of the various research areas general linguistics (ASV), phonetics, computer linguistics (Dali), children's language development, sign language (TSP) and the multilingualism of the deaf and hard of hearing (DHF). A scientific leader oversees work with the sign language dictionary at the Section of Sign Language.
Department Board
The Department Board is the highest decision-making body at the department. The board handles issues such as course syllabuses, teaching arrangements, admission of doctoral students, budgets and requests from students. The Department Board is chaired by the Head of Department and includes elected representatives who are teachers/researchers, administrative staff and students.
