Our courses and programmes

Here you can find all about being a student at the Department of Linguistics. We offer courses and programmes within three main areas: Linguistics, Language Informatics and Sign Language. On behalf of Karolinska Institutet, we also give courses within the Speech and Language Pathology Programme.

Our research

We study human linguistic communication in its entirety: structurally, interactionally, pragmatically, neurologically, and developmentally.

Phonetics Laboratory

The Phonetics Laboratory offers advanced research conditions for experimental studies of speech perception and production.

SUBIC – Brain Imaging Centre

What does language look like in the brain? SUBIC is an advanced infrastructure for research on brain structure and function.

Språkstudion

Språkstudion is the place for anyone who studies, teaches, does research or is interested in other aspects of languages at Stockholm University.
