The yearly career fair of the Mathematics-Physics Section gives you who are studying mathematics, physics or related subjects a chance to find out more about career options, and to connect with potential future employers. The career fair of 2026 will take place in Albano on 11 February.

The career fair 2026 takes place in Albano on Wednesday 11 February, about 9:00-15:00. There will be a number of short lectures, mainly by alumni of ours (some of these are in Swedish and some in English, see details in the programme), and outside the lecture hall there are exhibitors from agencies and companies that employ people with an education in mathematics, physics or related subjects.

To prepare you for the career fair there is a webinar held by Naturvetarna:

Webinar 5 February: Cracking the Career Code: Opportunities for Mathematicians, Physicists and Computer Scientists

Which subjects are part of the career fair?

The entire Mathematics-Physics Section is taking part in the career fair, so that's the departments of Mathematics, Physics, Astronomy and Meteorology. So it is particularly relevant for students in mathematics, mathematical statistics, computer science, physics, medical physics, astronomy and meteorology, but others are also welcome!

Please note that there is another career fair on the same day, for the rest of the Faculty of Science. This takes place in Aula Magna, and only in the afternoon. So these are two separate events, and you can go to just one or parts of both.

Programme

The day starts at 9 AM with breakfast, where you can talk to the exhibitors. During the day, besides talks from our alumni, there will be a quick presentation of all the exhibitors, and a panel discussion where a few alumni who got their degrees recently tell us about their transition from studies to working life. Of course, you can also talk to the exhibitors later in the day, both when the talk given is not so interesting for you, and during the lunch break.

Some talks will be in Swedish and some in English. The talk at and 10:30 will be held in English.

Premises

This year's career fair will take place in Stockholm University's campus Albano, which is about fifteen minutes' walk from the metro stations Tekniska högskolan or Universitetet, and just by the bus stop Albano. Both the exhibit and lectures will be in building 2, which is the one in the middle.

The lectures will take place in auditorium 2 (hörsal 2), and the exhibition will be close by, outside auditorium 5. Both of these are on floor 2 in building 2.

If you are coming from Roslagsvägen, go in through the entrance next to the base of the big staircase to the left of building 2 and you'll get right to the exhibit space.
