The Department of Mathematics during Christmas & New Year
Are you admitted to a course in the spring, or are you taking a course this autumn and have questions about exams? Here you can find information about the end of term and start of term, and about access to the buildings during the holidays.

Contact, and access to the buildings
During the holidays, telephone hours and drop in times may be cancelled, and it might take a little longer than usual to get replies to emails. Because of when the holidays are this year there are not many working days between 20 December and 6 January.
The student office's email address, studentexpedition@math.su.se, will be checked all working days (so 22-23 and 29-30 December), so if you write to some other address with an urgent matter and receive an autoreply that that person is on vacation, please send the email on to the student office.

Exams in January
To take an exam you usually need to have signed up for it in Ladok at least 10 days in advance, but the deadline is earlier for exams in January 2026:
- Exams 7-13 January: last day to sign up in Ladok is 21 December
- Exams 14-18 January: last day to sign up in Ladok is 6 January
- Last day to tell us that you want to take an exam 7-18 January with support or adjustments recommended by Student services is 18 December (you also need to sign up in Ladok)
We can't sign you up late, even if you had technical difficulties preventing you from signing up in Ladok, so please don't leave it until the last minute.
Admitted to a course in the spring?
To keep your place you must reply to your offer via Universityadmissions.se by the 15 December, and then register for the course via Ladok.
Online registration via Ladok opens 7 January, and closes at different times for different courses.
- Mathematics I (only given in Swedish): last day for registration is 14 January.
- Courses given at KTH, so MM7026 Advanced Complex Analysis and MM7049 Number Theory: last day for registration is 14 January. Register earlier if you can to get your KTH-account earlier.
- Programming Techniques: last day for registration is 26 January.
- For other courses the last day to register is usually three weeks into the course. You can find the exact date in Ladok.
(You cannot register online for degree project courses in mathematics, we will register you for these when your project plan has been approved.)
