Incoming exchange students

Are you a student in another country thinking about coming to Sweden? Whether you come here on your own (Free Mover) or as an exchange student, we are pleased to welcome you.

All the advanced level courses at the Department of Meteorology (MISU) are given in English. Together with Stockholm University's International Office we will provide assistance with formalities as well as practical matters. And you will not feel alone - Stockholm University has students from many countries all over the world.

International Students at Stockholm University

Stockholm University participates in several exchange programs such as Erasmus and Nordplus, has exchange agreements with around 400 universities throughout the world and offer over 200 courses in English to exchange students. If you are interested in becoming an exchange student you should contact a university in your own country for information.

MISU has ERASMUS+ agreements with several universities in Germany, Czech Republic, Austria and Belgium.

If you are interested in going on an Erasmus exchange to any of these universities, please contact the Study Counselor.

We are also interested in establishing new Erasmus+ agreements within atmospheric sciences, oceanography and climate physics. If you want to study at MISU and your department is not listed above, please contact the exchange coordinator at your home university. They can then contact our Erasmus Exchange Coordinator (the MISU Study Adviser) and discuss the possibilities of establishing a new exchange agreement.

Sweden is one of the largest countries in Europe, with great diversity in its nature and climate. Sweden is a sparsely populated and characterized by its long coastline, extensive forests and numerous lakes.

The contrasts between long summer nights and equally long winter nights are big. Thanks to the Gulf Stream, a warm ocean current, Sweden enjoys a favourable climate. The capital of Stockholm is beautifully situated by the Baltic Sea, built on 14 islands around one of Europe’s largest and best-preserved mediaeval city. Stockholm offers a broad variaty of activities and more than 850 000 people of different origins live there.
