The Swedish Congress of Philosophy (”Filosofidagarna”) is a biennial philosophy conference that circulates between universities in Sweden. The 2026 conference is organised by the Department of Philosophy at Stockholm University, between June 12 and June 14.

The congress starts at 13:00 on Friday 12 June and ends at 15:30 on Sunday 14 June. An updated schedule, with abstracts on the second tab, is available on Dropbox here.

In case of technical difficulties, a backup schedule—not necessarily fully up to date—is available here.

For queries contact the Organising Committee at filosofidagarna2026@gmail.com

Participants are asked to register their attendance and collect their name tag at a reception desk in Albano Hus 2 Plan 2 when they enter the conference. The desk will be staffed from Friday 11.00-13.00, and during the coffee breaks.

There will also be the option for late sign up to both the conference and conference dinner.

Keynote Speakers

Theoretical Philosophy Roman Frigg, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)

Theoria Lecturer Timothy Williamson, University of Oxford

Sections and Speakers

Location

The conference will take place at Campus Albano, Stockholm University. The address is Albanovägen 18, 114 19 Stockholm.

Campus Albano is served by Bus 50 and is within walking distance of the red line subway stations KTH and Universitetet. Bus 50 connects to Universitetet and to Odenplan, where it meets the green line and commuter trains ("Pendeltåg").

For public transport options, see https://sl.se/en/in-english. Enter the venue address to find travel times from your accommodation.

Getting to Stockholm / Airport Transport

Taxi, Uber, and Bolt are all available in Stockholm. From Arlanda Airport, bus (Flygbussarna) or train (Arlanda Express) is generally quicker and less expensive than taxi. A taxi from Arlanda to central Stockholm typically costs SEK 600–700 depending on company and time of day. Uber and Bolt prices vary considerably with demand. For the return trip from the conference venue to the airport, a taxi may be more convenient, especially with luggage—expect roughly 35 minutes outside rush hours.

For queries contact the Organising Committee at filosofidagarna2026@gmail.com

The rooms have HDMI cables for connecting your laptop, as well as USB-C adapters (though bringing your own adapter might be wise). If you need to use the in-room computer, please contact one of the organisers (at the registration/info table), who can log you into the system before your session.

Session chairs are asked to handle the Q&A and keep strict time during their sessions, and to coordinate with speakers beforehand.

Invited section talks should ideally be no longer than 30 minutes, and at most 35, leaving at least 10 minutes for Q&A.

Contributed talks should ideally be no longer than 20 minutes, and at most 25, leaving at least 10 minutes for Q&A.

Speakers can email materials they want to distribute to filosofidagarna2026@gmail.com.

Write "material for folder" in the subject line and name your file in the format "surname - talk title". If you send us your file by 08:00 on the day of your talk, we will make it accessible to participants in this folder.
