The Security function at Stockholm University is responsible for leading and coordinating a structured and systematic security programme that protects the university's core values and ensures a safe environment for staff, students and visitors.
Mission statement
The Security function at Stockholm University is responsible for leading and coordinating a structured and systematic security programme that protects the university's core values and ensures a safe environment for staff, students and visitors. Security work should be risk‐based and cover physical, digital and human aspects. Through tailored, effective and scalable measures, security work aims to minimise threats and security risks and strengthen the university's resilience. Furthermore, the security function shall also lead and coordinate the systematic security protection work to protect the information and activities that are of importance to Sweden's security against espionage, sabotage, terrorist offences and certain other threats.
Ongoing Deadly Violence (PDV) ‐ What is PDV
- Acts of violence, often indiscriminate, using means such as stabbing, slashing and shooting weapons,but also vehicles and explosive devices
- Perpetrators often act alone or in small groups and are usually willing to sacrifice their lives
- Events take place over short periods of time, often within 15 minutes
- Resulting in many serious injuries and/or deaths
