Introduction to Public Health Sciences: A brief overview
This course introduces the social science perspective in public health, to students with limited or no prior knowledge in public health sciences. The course provides a historical contextualization of the social science perspective in public health sciences, an overview of the main theoretical frameworks and fundamental concepts.
The course is open to doctoral students from all disciplinary backgrounds. It is suitable for those who want to understand how this discipline investigates the distribution of health in the population, with a particular focus on unequal distribution, and for those who want to reflect on how the topics of their doctoral dissertation can be of relevance to public health.
