Abstract

While contemporary debates on equity policies often polarize opinions, traditional subjects in schools and universities may seem resistant to change—particularly when exploring earlier centuries and the concept of a national canon. However, Italian literature, with its diverse array of authors, works, and movements that either conform to or challenge societal and literary norms, offers a rich and multifaceted field for study. How can such a complex landscape be introduced effectively in the classroom today? What strategies can inspire and engage students? This seminar aims to explore these questions, drawing connections with history and other literatures.
