Intersectional study on professions, gender and nationalities released by Cambridge University Press

On 6 February, the book Social group representation in a diachronic news corpus was published in full open access, thanks to grants from the Language and Power network at Stockholm University, the foundation Längmanska kulturfonden and the Run-Janne scholarship. The author is Irene Elmerot from the Section for Slavic Studies, and the publisher is Cambridge University Press.

“It's fantastic to finally be able to share this intersectional study,” says Irene. “I had to struggle to find funding to publish it at no cost to readers, but I finally did, thanks to the donors. I hope that anyone interested in stereotypes, power discourse, intersectionality and media studies will download and read it.”

The book is a short monograph in the Elements in Corpus Linguistics series, a format suitable for medium-sized studies, as a cross between an article and a full-length book.
