Students from countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland are required to pay both an application fee and a tuition fee.

Costs, fees and scholarships

March 26, 2026 you will receive a notification from Univesityadmission / Antagningen regarding your admission.

You have to actively accept the seat you have been offered no later than May 15, 2026.  If you don’t accept your place by the deadline, you will lose the place that you’ve been offered.

Students on waiting list will be contacted by email if we have places left.

Conditionally admitted

If you are conditionally admitted you must be able to show the appropriate documents to prove your eligibility to be able to register for the course. To show that you fulfil the requirement and to remove the conditional admittance, please contact us at master@sociology.su.se

How to decline your offer

If you decide not to attend, it’s important that you decline your place as soon as possible so that students on waiting list can get your place instead. Follow the instructions given under Universityadmission.se – ‘Application’ after you log in.

Withdrawing

All non-EU/EEA students who plan on studying for more than three months must have a residence permit for studies in Sweden. The authority responsible for issuing residence permits is the Swedish Migration Agency, (”Migrationsverket”). It is important that you apply for a residence permit well in advance, to make sure that your application is processed in time.
