MERS Symposium: ASSESS Research School – Relevance for Mathematics Teacher Education at IÄD

SEMINAR
Date: Friday 20 February 2026
Time: 10:00 - 12:00
Location: Room P502, Svante Arrhenius väg 20A, and online via Zoom (link below)

At this symposium, researchers from the ASSESS research school present and discuss current studies on knowledge assessment in educational systems. The focus is on national and international assessments in teacher education. The symposium is held in English and Swedish.

ASSESS, a collaboration between Gothenburg, Uppsala, and Stockholm universities, aims to strengthen research competence and advance educational research in assessment within teacher education by developing skills for critical review and in-depth analysis of national and international knowledge measurements.

Doctoral students at the Department of Teaching and Learning (IÄD) will showcase their research related to mathematics teacher education. Their supervisor, Samuel Sollerman, senior lecturer at IÄD and director of the PRIM test development and research group, will also share data and findings from large-scale assessments, which may be of interest to both researchers and teacher educators.

The symposium seeks to explore how current research on knowledge measurement can be applied and to examine key issues in educational research.
