Introduction to Feminist Theory, 7,5 credits

This course offers doctoral students from disciplines where gender perspectives are not commonly applied an opportunity to engage with feminist theory and its wide-ranging importance.

Course description

Through in-depth exploration of feminist epistemology, decolonial theory, intersectionality, and queer theory, the course traces the historical development and contemporary strands of feminist intellectual traditions. We also examine how feminist knowledge is shaped by historical and geographical contexts, as well as activism, encouraging a critical understanding of knowledge production. Throughout the course, students are invited to reflect on and apply feminist approaches within their own fields of research.
