We are seeking a full-time research assistant for six months, starting around May 1, 2026, to work in an international and collaborative research environment in applied microeconomics, with a focus on labor markets, human capital, and policy-relevant issues.
The position involves working closely with the principal investigator and PhD students on projects that use large administrative microdatasets and experimental data from Brazil. Responsibilities include data construction, cleaning, and merging large datasets; conducting econometric analysis, robustness checks, and replication; and performing text analysis of, for example, job postings and CVs, primarily using Stata but also R or Python.
Applicants should hold a BA or MA in economics or a related quantitative field, have strong programming skills, experience working with data, and excellent command of English. Experience with large matched employer–employee datasets (e.g., RAIS), text-as-data methods, advanced econometrics, and Portuguese is considered an asset. Great emphasis is placed on accuracy, independence, documentation, and a willingness to learn new methods.
