Institute for Social Private Law

Institute for Social Private Law

Welcome

The Institute for Social Private Law is a research centre at the Faculty of Law, Stockholm University, focusing on the role of private law in social life.

The Institute’s research addresses those areas of private law that shape individuals’ conditions and status as social beings. The development of labour law in an international context—where both globalisation and Sweden’s EU membership play a central role—has long been a primary focus. This is now complemented by research with a more national orientation, examining labour law and labour market dynamics within Sweden.

The Institute places great emphasis on collaboration with the surrounding society. It shall in particular aim to disseminate research findings and to promote the exchange of ideas between researchers and practising legal professionals within the Institute’s field of interest.

Director:
Professor and Vice Dean Petra Herzfeld Olsson
