Practical information and code of conduct

During term time, several hundred students visit Språkstudion every week. On this page, we describe some practical information and a code a conduct that help making this work as smoothly as possible.

  • To log in to our computers, use your university account. It is the same username and password you need to access the library resources or Athena.
  • Please log out from your computer when you leave it, and do not turn it off. The computer will set itself in energy saving mode. It is important to us to have it on in order to carry out updates and maintenaince remotely.
  • Do not save files locally on Språkstudion's computers. Use smart clouds or other data storage solutions instead. The user accounts are regulrily cleared, and we can not retrieve your lost work.
  • You are welcome to borrow laptops and books at our front desk, but not to take them away from our premises.
  • You can see available self-study hours and group room hoursone week ahead.
  • You can do printouts from Språkstudions computers via the university's Printomat system. You need your university card to get your printouts.
  • During our opening hours, there is always staff at our front desk. Don't hesitate to ask if you have quetions. We can help you by controlling your computer remotely if needed.
  • Please tell us if you find something that doesn't work properly or if you have suggestions for development of our rooms and resources. It will help us greatly to improve our centre.

  • You are allowed to bring fruit and candy as well as coffee, tea or water with a lid/cap.
  • Mobile phones might disturb both your own and others’ recordings and/or study environment. Please keep your mobile phone on silent mode and move to the corridor if you need to take a call.
  • Always check in at the front desk before you enter Språkstudion's rooms for self-studies or group work. We keep statistics of the number of visits per language or activity, but never keep information about what activities you as an individual has participated in. Our statistics help us understand, improve, and communicate our activities.
  • Since we have a limited number of places in our rooms, your work here at Språkstudion needs to have an academic connection to language studies. If you need a computer for other kind of work, we refer to the university computers at Studenthuset or the library.
  • Please leave your place at least as neat and tidy as you found it. Feel free to use our disinfectant spray and paper towels to clean the keyboard, mouse, and headphones. We clean our equipment regularly, but we appreciate your support in protecting the health of yourself and others.
