New portrait series: Reseachers behind the Stockholm Declaration

In May 2025, SUCCeSS organized the Nobel Symposium on Chemistry for sustainability: fundamental advances, gathering around 30 internationally leading invited speakers and 35 specially invited researchers from Swedish academia and industry to discuss how research in chemistry can contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In conjunction with that, the Stockholm Declaration on Chemistry for the Future was launched – a short and powerful text written by the invited speakers with input from SUCCeSS. The purpose of the Stockholm Declaration is to advance health and sustainability by calling on scientists, industry, educators, students and policy makers to collaborate on implementing solutions for human well-being while preserving and protecting the environment.

To promote continued focus on the Stockholm Declaration, SUCCeSS is now launching a new interview series featuring researchers who have signed the declaration and are helping shape its impact. In addition to that, we offer to present the Declaration to university students around the world – let us know by email if you want us to present at your university!
