The Swedish Institute for Social Research (SOFI) has its premises at Stockholm University, in "Södra huset", Frescati, Stockholm. Here is information on how to find the institute, get around the area and find your way in our premises.

Our premises are located on the university campus in Frescati in northern Stockholm. SOFI is located in the F-house in "Södra huset" (southern house), on floors 8 and 9.

Find the area

Stockholm University today has premises in several different places. SOFI is located in the university district at Frescati, just north of Stockholm's inner city. You can easily get here by metro, buses, local trains and of course by car or bicycle.

Different modes of transport

By metro: Take the red line to the stop "Universitetet"

By bus: Take bus 50 or 540 to the stop "Universitetet", bus 670 or 676 to the stop "Universitetet norra".

By Roslagsbanan (local train): Go to the stop "Universitetet"

By car or bicycle
From the south, from Stockholm's inner city
Drive out of town via Roslagstull, take the exit towards Roslagsvägen and then turn right towards Stockholm University onto Baron Rålambs väg, by the petrol station. Continue straight ahead, across Frescativägen and drive into the large car park, at the end of the car park is the F-house and SOFI.

From the north
Drive south on the E18, take the exit towards Stockholm C / Universitetet, turn left towards Baron Rålamb's road and continue straight ahead into the car park. At the end of the large car park are the F-house and SOFI.

Find your way around the premises

We have our premises on floors 8 and 9 in the F-house, and some rooms on the 4th floor in the same house. Our student office, study and career counselor and administrator are located on level 8, you find signs to guide you outside the elevator. By the elevators we also have a list of where to find the respective employees at SOFI. Passport card and code are required to reach levels 8 and 9, to meet an employee at SOFI you should therefore arrange a meeting in advance.
