Welcome Activities

Stockholm University organises a series of welcome activities at the beginning of each semester. The activities are designed to assist you as a new student and introduce you to university life in Stockholm and Sweden.

The programme is voluntary (attendance is optional) and includes an Arrival Service, an Orientation Day, and other events. See more details about all events below.

16-22 January – Join us on Instagram! 

During the week, we will focus on our newly admitted students and share tips and useful information. Follow @stockholmuniversity to not miss out on that and other happenings at SU. 

 

15 January: Arrival Service

The Arrival Service is the first event of the Welcome Activities and is open to all new international and exchange students at Stockholm University. Student ambassadors and university staff will welcome you and help you settle into your new life in Stockholm and Sweden.

16 January: Guided tours of Frescati campus

Discover the main buildings and hear interesting facts about our main campus, the Frescati campus. The 45-minute tour will help you find your way on campus this spring. There are two tours available on 16 January, one at 10 am. and one at 12 noon. Click on the button below for more information.

17 January: Orientation Day

An important part of the Welcome activities is Orientation Day – a welcoming day for newly arrived international students, filled with information about practical matters such as healthcare, IT services, student life and Swedish language courses.

18 January: Welcome Fair

At the Welcome Fair you can meet the representatives of the different organisations at the university such as IT services, the Stockholm University Library, the Student Union and various student associations.

Further Welcome Activities

Below is a list of further Welcome Activities organised at the beginning of the semester, they include presentations from The Academic Writing Service, the Stockholm University Library and Språkstudion (the Language Learning Resource Centre). Events will be added below continuously.
