Welcome Activities

Stockholm University organises a series of welcome activities at the beginning of each semester. The activities are designed to assist you as a new student and introduce you to university life in Stockholm and Sweden.

Attendance is optional, and includes, apart from Arrival Service, activities such as:

• Introductions to the Stockholm University Library and Academic Writing Services
• Speed-friending
• Campus tours 
• Tours of Gamla Stan (the old town of Stockholm), and second-hand store tours
• Sports and games with the Stockholm University Student Union
• ... and more

Arrival Service

The Arrival Service is the first event of the Welcome Activities and is open to all new international and exchange students at Stockholm University. Student ambassadors and university staff will welcome you and help you settle into your new life in Stockholm and Sweden.

The Arrival Service for the spring semester of 2024 takes place on Sunday the 14th of January.

Welcome Fair and social activities

At the fair, you can meet and interact with representatives of the different organisations at the university such as IT services, the library, the Student Union, and many more. The social activities include speed friending, guided tours of the Frescati campus, and sports activities.

The Welcome Fair for the spring semester of 2024 takes place on Thursday the 18th of January.
