Conditionally eligible or conditionally admitted applicants

If you've been conditionally admitted, this means that there is something left for you to do in order to be officially admitted.

Conditional eligibility

You can be deemed conditionally eligible if you have on-going university studies and it is likely that you will fulfil the eligibility requirements by the start of the course or programme.  If you do not yet fulfil the eligibility requirements when you submit your application but have potential to be eligible by the start of the course or programme, you can be conditionally admitted or conditionally placed on reserve.

If you are conditionally admitted this means that you are offered a place on a course or programme on the condition that you fulfil the eligibility requirements by the time the course or programme starts. You must be able to show the appropriate documents to prove your eligibility to be able to register for the programme or course you have been admitted to. If you are not able to do so, your admission will be withdrawn. To show that you fulfil the requirement and to remove the conditional admittance, please contact the department. For a list of departments and contact information, please see: su.se/departments.

Please note that you cannot be conditionally eligible if you have on-going Upper Secondary School studies. Or If you have ongoing academic studies that could meet an eligibility criteria based on Upper Secondary School merits.

Applicants in their final year of bachelor's studies

If you have been conditionally admitted because you are in the final year of your bachelor’s degree, this means that you are offered a place on a study programme on condition that you have completed your Bachelor’s degree by the time the semester starts, and can show the appropriate documents to prove it. If you are not able to do so, your admission will be withdrawn.

When the semester starts you need to show certified copies of your degree certificate and transcripts from the last semesters at the department to be able to register for the programme you have been admitted to. To show that you fulfil the requirement and to remove the conditional admittance, please contact the department. For a list of departments and contact information, please see: su.se/departments.

Applicants who are required to pay tuition fees

Applicants who are required to pay tuition fees will be listed as 'Conditionally admitted' on their Notification of Selection Results. After the notification of results has been published admitted students will be asked to confirm that they want an electronic invoice sent to their email address. If confirmed you will receive the electronic invoice. When the invoice has been paid the payment will be registered in our computer base, which is available for the Migration Board to see. On the basis of this they will start processing admitted students application for residence permit based on studies.

At this time, the National Admissions System cannot record when an applicant has paid the first instalment of the tuition fee. Your status will still be listed as 'Conditionally admitted,' on University Admissions even after you've paid the tuition fee.
