Fjällis accommodation area is located on Lidingö. Here we rent a total of 89 apartments that are available to exchange students, international master students, PhD students and guest researchers at Stockholm University.
Location and room information
Fjällis is located on Lidingö, which is one of many islands in Stockholm’s inner archipelago. Here we rent a building (owned by Balder Fastighets AB) with a total of 89 apartments, of which 64 studio apartments are available to exchange students and international master students.
Each studio apartment is between 22-26 square meters with combined living area/sleeping area/kitchen area and private bathroom with shower and WC. The kitchen area has 2 hot plates, a microwave and a small refrigerator with a freezing compartment. In some apartments the fridge is located under the kitchen sink and in other apartments the fridge is in another location in the apartment.
All apartments, except for the ones on the ground floor, have a private balcony.
There is a common room located on the ground floor can be booked for social events and gatherings. Keys for this room is picked up at Servicecenter.
The studio apartments at Fjällis are for single occupancy only.
You cannot specify the location or size of the apartment on the housing application. You can however, specify if you prefer a studio apartment on the ground floor (which is the cheapest option) or a studio apartment with private balcony under "additional information" in the application.
Also note that you must choose three different types of accommodation when you fill out the housing application. If you receive an offer, we will try to give you your first option, but please note that this might not be possible, and we cannot guarantee that the offer will be for one of these three options.
All apartments are furnished with a dining table, two chairs, a bed (size: 200 cm long and 90 cm wide), a mattress, a chest of drawers and lamps. You must bring your own quilt, pillow, sheets and towels.
Cooking utensils, dinnerware and cleaning articles are not supplied by the housing office. However, these items may have been left by the previous tenant for your use.
Rent and rent payments
All accommodation is rented out on a semester basis and charged accordingly.
The rent for one semester is between SEK 29804 and SEK 30751 and that includes heating, cold water, hot water, electricity and internet (not Wi-Fi). Excessive use of electricity will be charged extra.
The rent will be paid in two installments. For more payment information log into your accommodation account.
Internet is included in the rent, however we do not supply WiFi. You must bring your own network cable to be able to use the internet, and also a router to be able to use Wi-Fi. Please note that network cables or routers from other countries may not work in Sweden, so we suggest you buy it in Stockholm.
When you arrive you will receive one apartment key. This key also works for the laundry room and your postbox.
