Science Education

Are you a teacher who wants to deepen or maybe broaden your knowledge about teaching, learning and evaluating science? Deeper professional knowledge is directly applicable to school and preschool, but can also form the basis for more advanced studies in science education.

Subject description

Science Education deals with questions about teaching and learning in natural sciences. Teaching should train future natural scientists and give students the knowledge they need as active citizens. In preschool, the teacher's role is to stimulate the childrens natural interest in exploring and investigating.

For teachers of the natural sciences, there are questions about which subject area to prioritize and how the content should be treated, in relation to curriculum and the students' interests and expectations. How is natural sciences communicated and how can you make it useful in other contexts? Teaching in school and preschool is not only about content and methods but also other factors that affect learning, for example students' attitudes towards ethnicity, gender or identity.
