Use your multilingualism as a resource for your writing!

Wednesday 23 September 2020 10.00 – 12.00

Do you want to improve your writing in a second or other language? Join the Academic Writing Service for this workshop on using your multilingualism as a resource for your academic writing.

Many of us have been told that to 'write in English' you should ’think in English’, but do we need to keep our languages separate when we write academic texts? How can we draw on our knowledge and writing skills in other languages we when produce academic texts in Swedish or English? In this workshop we will explore ways of transferring writing skills between languages, working strategically in a second language and working more flexibly between and across languages. The workshop will be based around discussions between the workshop participants, guided by consultants from the Academic Writing Service and Studie- och språkverkstaden. The workshop will be conducted in English and/or Swedish, depending on the preferences of the participants.

This event will be held via Zoom. To participate, you need to be a registered student at Stockholm University and you need to be logged in to Zoom with your university account. For more information on how to use Zoom, visit Serviceportalen.

The workshop is delivered with the collaboration and support of the Stockholm University Student Union. Find out more about the Student Union's events and activities at
