Arabic with Middle Eastern and North African Studies II
Within the framework of the course, the student will continue to study the basics of Arabic grammar, its theory of form and word formation, and syntax. In addition to Arabic grammar, practice is given in reading and understanding simpler Arabic text, as well as in oral and written language skills. The course also includes a module in Middle Eastern literature.
The course consists of four modules.
Modules
Modern Standard Arabic III, 10 credits (ECTS)
Text Reading I, 5 credits (ECTS)
Language proficiency II, 7.5 credits (ECTS)
Middle Eastern literature, 7.5 credits (ECTS)

Teaching Format
The teaching consists of lectures and seminars.
Attendance at all classes is mandatory.

Assessment
Modern Standard Arabic III, 10 credits, is examined by a written exam.
Text reading I, 5 credits, is examined through a written exam and written assignments.
Language Proficiency II, 7.5 credits, is examined through an oral exam and two written exams.
Middle Eastern literature, 7.5 credits (ECTS) is examined through a written assignment and an oral presentation of a work of fiction.
The principles for the examinations are stated in the grading criteria.
