Roll Call

For most courses at the Department of Astronomy no roll call is held. Instead, the course begins with the first lecture. If a course includes a roll call or an introductory lecture, this will be clearly stated in the welcome letter sent to all admitted students via email.

Registration

You register yourself for astronomy courses in Ladok. Registration normally opens two weeks before the course start and closes one week after the course has begun.

Learning Platform

From the autumn semester 2026, the Department of Astronomy uses the online learning platform Canvas.

Conditional Admission

If you have been admitted to a course with condition, you must contact studieinfo@astro.su.se before you can start the course.

Admission from the Waiting List

Admission from the waiting list normally continues until one week after the course start. After that, no additional students are admitted.

Welcome activities

The Student Office organises activities aimed at all students at SU, regardless of programme or course, focusing on general information and social events.

Each department has its own introductions for their students, with a greater focus on matters related to their specific programme or course. Information relevant to your department can be found above.
