Biology of contagious diseases, Introductory Course

Why do we get sick and which infectious diseases are caused by viruses, bacteria, yeasts and protozoa? How do the body's immune system and vaccines work? How do infections spread from animals to humans and why can some infections develop into pandemics? These and other questions about the biology of infectious diseases are answered in this course.
