Marine Biology
The majority of the course is devoted to field studies on the North Sea coast and Baltic coast. We study marine ecology at the level of the organism, population and the ecosystem, including biological interactions, ecophysiology, energy flows, and the effects of natural and human disturbance.
Modules
The course consists of the following parts:
- Theory
- Field studies at the Askö laboratory, Baltic Sea
- Field studies on the North Sea coast
- Project work, essay and seminar
- Human Impacts
Teaching Format
The education consists of lectures, field studies, seminars, exercises, project work in groups, presentations and laboratory exercises.

Assessment
Examination for the course takes place through the presentation of project work as well as written and/or oral examination. Written exams will be marked anonymously, and you need to register in advance to get your personal code. You will get your exam results back within 3 weeks.
